Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park

Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park or know as GWK, is a cultural park that was built on Unggasan Jimbaran hill, Bali. The location is about 40 kilometers from Denpasar, 30 minutes from Kuta area and 1.5 hours from Ubud. In this park was plant to build a statue of Garuda Wisnu, with a height of 12 meters. From the soil surface, about - about a 146 meters high.

Garuda Wisnu Kencana statue is the work of Balinese artists is I Nyoman Nuarta. Lord Vishnu is represented as sources of wisdom and guardian of the bird Garuda, riding a symbol of strength and is expected to provide prosperity.

Garuda Wisnu Kencana statue built on a land area of 240 hectares. In this place was built facilities such as amphitheater, festival, garden, fish pond, street theater, exhibition space, gift shop and restaurant. The main objective of the establishment of this cultural park is to educate the people especially the younger generation to help preserve their national heritage.

Variety of performing arts with a star - world stars ever held in this place, included the opening and closing of the international beach game event which was attended by athletes from around the world and is a prestigious event the first time, Indonesia as the largest maritime countries in the world.
